Michael Wesley is an Australian academic and currently works as Executive Director of the Lowy Institute for International Policy.[1] Prior to joining the Lowy Institute, he was Director of the Griffith Asia Institute at Griffith University.
Wesley completed a PhD at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Hong Kong,and previously worked as a lecturer at the University of New South Wales, and as an official at the Office of National Assessments. He also served as co-chairman of the Security and Prosperity working group at the Australia 2020 Summit in 2008.[2]
He has authored several books on foreign policy, including The Howard Paradox: Australian Diplomacy in Asia.
